There is a saying ' Without the Mahayanas, Buddhism would never spread around the world ' and ' Without the Theravada, Buddhism would never be discovered '.

My first Katrina in year 2011 at Wat Charok Padang. Remembering back in year 1992, i saw this tv program called Majalah 3 on a saturday or sunday afternoon documentary of how unique this temple is built with recycle bottles from soy sauce, ketchup and etc. This temple even earned a place in Malaysian Book of Records. I did not get to go to this Wat untill year 2004. I took a trip there with two cousin friend, Tony Iban and Dr. Richard Mason.

Somehow in 2011, I only got to know the chief monk who run this temple and with help of few novice monks. Portan Ngean is a well built person and from first look into his eyes, you could tell he is devoted with his work and sincerity in his hearts. His chanting session is a must and when you have had one experience with him, you would know what i want to tell you here. Go visit this place and if you lose you way, always stop by the town called Jenian to ask your way there. Wat Charok Padang or rather known as Wat Botol/Bottle Temple.
